It is such a joyous time to reflect upon the journey over the past year. So many residents and staff that have been part of the Township Senior Living since our beginning, still providing the rich culture that makes the Township known for its hospitality. Spiritual services, history lectures, musical entertainment, canvas painting, and leading outings are just a few examples that have blessed our community over the past year.
As the economy changed throughout the year, businesses of all kinds found the challenge of meeting staffing needs. The Township continued adding valuable members to complete the team, leading the way to achieving many national levels of distinction.
During the celebration of “Creating Joyful Moments” a recognition of the large number of married couples was celebrated in assisted living with a formal Wedding Vow Renewal ceremony, hosted by the administration team. Eight couples renewed their vows with bouquets, wedding cake, wedding photos, along with family and neighbors. It would not have been complete without the single ladies assembled to catch the bouquet at the close of the ceremony.
During “Dog Days of Summer” the residents were able to show off their beloved pets in a dog parade, celebrating the US News and World Report naming The Township Best Memory Care 2022-23, Best Assisted Living 2022-23, and a Great Place to Work 2022. Air-conditioned cars with windows down and dogs sticking their heads out the colorful, decorated vehicle, showed off the residents and the variety of canines that serve as their best friend. Residents lined the sidewalks and stood on balconies to cheer on the parade. A shaved-ice truck and Happy Hour with entertainment rounded out the celebration.
Our staff is continuously striving to exceed standards within our industry. Two Nurse Managers completed an RN level this year. Beth Orsburn, Memory Care Director, and team were the first recognized for leading the completion of the Arrow’s Neighborhood Program.
Collaboration with our community partners have enhanced our services and care this past year. The partnership with EmpowerMe Wellness has brought physical, occupational, and speech therapy, with a Nurse Practitioner available to see residents in their apartments. We love the engagement from Intrepid Home Care and Hospice, Integrity Home Health and Hospice, Terrace Home Care and Hospice, Seasons Hospice, Amedisys, Cox Home Care, and others. They have provided pet therapy, music therapy, outings, hayrides, barrel fishing, donated flowers and gifts, called Bingo, led exercise classes, dressed up as the Easter Bunny and much more!
Identifying new and exciting ways to demonstrate Arrow’s Core Values will be a focus for the upcoming year. Employee, resident, and family engagement is important to gain feedback and development. Community and family participation in events and celebration will be encouraged with open office hours available specifically for greater involvement. The Township is a beautiful building, and even more importantly, is the people. As we have enjoyed achieving levels of distinction over the past year, those efforts continue as we pursue accreditation from The Joint Commission in the upcoming year. A focus on quality and performance is the key to this achievement. Together we can achieve more!
