The Township Senior Living Greatly Appreciates Its Employees

With the holidays right around the corner and the end of 2022 arriving, we find ourselves reflecting on all of the positive things that have happened this past year at The Township Senior Living. Although COVID brought many difficulties, we believe it also brought our team, of both employees and residents, closer together.

Looking back, we made many exciting memories with our residents, their families, and staff. During National Assisted Living Week, we had a “Forever I Do” ceremony for residents and their spouses to renew their vows. We went all out with bouquets, a wedding cake, made by our very own staff member, Kelli Franklin, and punch. Another exciting day that comes to mind was our Halloween celebration, where we had staff decorate and carve pumpkins for a contest. The residents participated in voting and it was fun to see their reactions. They were wowed!

It is amazing how employees in various departments pulled together to work as a team to push through the obstacles that COVID brought upon us, to ensure residents could continue to participate in fun events. Our team worked with the Republic Sheriff’s Department to contribute donations to Rescue One during our “Dog Days of Summer.” Our department heads worked hard to set up volunteers to lead our parade and prepare for the day, while our culinary team and Resident Services Coordinator Kelly made cookies. Our assisted living staff did an amazing job getting residents out in the shade to see the parade. We also had a canned food and school supply drive for the Republic School District. Employees were very generous in giving and we were able to contribute many supplies to the schools.

I am excited to experience my first holiday season at The Township Senior Living! The start of our 45 Days of Holiday Cheer has our community in the holiday spirit. We look forward to providing festive activities to our residents and family members throughout the remainder of the year. Our agenda includes making gingerbread houses, cookie decorating, and caroling.
